”Thank you for a great trip! I liked the idea about involving Business for the first time to this conference, and I really liked many of the session which were dedicated for this group. But I also think that the key notes and some of the sessions needed a more detailed/targeted division of the three groups, whether you were going for design, developing or business. I think that participants could have profited more, if the sessions had been more targeted i.e. Business didn’t have to get involved in all the hard coding etc.

Overall I think the conference has given me a great insight into web development, and a baggage full of new inputs and ideas!

Thank you Bo for being a great host – you took very good care of us! J”

“The venue was perfect, and was very well organized. I could not detect any major glitches – even the changes on the agenda worked ok. I know there have been some negativity about the keynotes and other sessions mixing business and development and design. That argument is not valid in my opinion when the purpose with the MIX is to bring designers and developers together to form a real discussion and learning session. But it is darn difficult to get it right, and the organizers need to be working harder on the issue in order to bring better interconnectivity between the two solitudes at the MIX08.

The second keynote was a bit weak – I would have liked to hear Bobbie Bach’s talk more about the direction of Microsoft, than he did. The showcases are ok – and is important, and need to be there. However the panel discussion after the keynote was not necessary there. It could have been better to have them in a more “intimate” setting with a real discussion and interaction with the audience. It is great to have controversial people on the panel – it is needed and worth striving for.

I mainly participated in the panel discussions – these sessions are very difficult to organize and the quality of them depends so much on the facilitator and the panelists. Most of them was in fact too weak – not enough substance, too much chit chat and too little interaction with the audience – who in many cases know significantly more than the presenters. The organizers need to work way harder to secure that the panel discussions are top notch – since it can augment the quality of the conference significantly – particularly if one through cases can demonstrate the value of developer/designer relations. And please be aware of people who dominate too much – they might not be the most knowledgeable and can easily ruin a session.

But all in all a successful conference, in my opinion. And our host from Denmark, Bo Drejer was superb.”

It was a really good conference, but the conference rooms were in most cases too small. It was pretty annoying to have to go 15 mins early to a session to secure a seat, instead of getting a break and a cup of coffee.
Great with the sessions online that quickly! It enabled me to download some of the ones that I missed and see them on my way home.
When the second keynote started with the words "You are not going to see one line of code. This is going to be all about how to sell silverlight to customers" I was outha there. I'm a developer and don't wanna waste my time on marketing. Could you make two keynotes at the same time, targeted at different audiences?
